Just 10 minutes from the Romantic Zone, the Palo María River offers a magnificent setting of tropical jungle and mountains. Lush slopes covered in vegetation, wildlife and birdsong make it a feast for the senses. We start from Federal Highway 200 toward the southeast of the Sierra Madre Occidental, walking among palm trees, papelillo trees and a beautiful river that runs down to the beaches of Bahía de Banderas.A solo 10 minutos de la Zona Romántica, el río Palo María ofrece un escenario magnífico de selva tropical y montaña. Curiel took us to two waterfalls. The first section of the hike was moderate, and from there to the second waterfall was very challenging.
